The Lechweg path – from the source to the falls
Hiking in Lech
Explore one of Europe's last wild river landscapes. The Lech River runs around 125km from its source near the Formarinsee to the Lech Falls in Füssen in Allgäu. Hike along its banks to encounter the largest colony of ibex in Europe, the longest hanging pedestrian bridge in Austria and the Bavarian royal castles – a truly unique outdoor experience.
Our tip: when you reach the Formarinsee, you'll find it is a stunningly beautiful mountain lake. Don't forget that (with a valid fishing licence from the Lech Zürs Tourismus information bureau) you can even fish in its clear waters!
